French New Wave
French New Wave
After Italian Neo-Realism was introduced, the style of film was used across the world in different variations. Like in Italian Neo-Realism, the protagonist can be a not-so positive person. The film makers used natural light, real people (not actors), and usually one camera. Examples of French New Wave style directors are Quinton Tarantino, Lars Von Trier, Wes Anderson, and Greta Gerwig. In many of these people's movies, the audience follows a real person through the real world, in real time. They also utalize "miss en cine", which is the technique of not acting for the camera.
